Tunisian National Radio Chooses DaletPlus Radio Suite

The Tunisian Establishment of Radio and Television (ERTT) chose DaletPlus Radio Suite to digitize its national channel, as well as its youth and cultural channels

Dalet today announced today that the Tunisian Establishment of Radio and Television (“Établissement de Radio et de la Télévision Tunisienne” or ERTT) chose DaletPlus Radio Suite to digitize its national channel, as well as its youth and cultural channels.

Whereas the national channel (“Al Idhaa Al Wataniah”) was produced using a first generation digital system, the youth channel (“Idhaa Achabab”) used traditional playout technology involving a mix of CDs and analogue tapes. As for the cultural channel (“Idhaa Alsakafa”), its launch was ensured using a DaletPlus Radio Suite system, specially deployed for the occasion.

“We were looking for a system that would combine flexibility and ease of use,” explains Mr. Moncef Fathallah, Technical Director of the ERTT. “The rigorous public tender process we adopted allowed us to select the system best suited to our needs.”

“The path chosen by the ERTT is typical of large public broadcasters,” comments Mr. David Bachut, Product Manager and digital radio system expert at Dalet. “The goal is to implement a digital platform that facilitates a non disruptive, step-by-step change management.”

Although the three radio stations of the ERTT share the same infrastructure and the same centralized content catalogue, each editorial team works independently. The sharing of content and resources is planned for a later stage. DaletPlus Radio Suite simplifies such a step-by-step change of workflow thanks to its advanced rights management system and centralized system administration. This allows for the thirty workstations, three main studios and the back-up studio to share the same database yet work independently from each other.
