Dalet Unveils Next Generation SD / HD Enterprise MAM at IBC08

Dalet unveils at the IBC 2008 exhibition its next generation Enterprise Asset Management workflow capabilities

Dalet unveils at the IBC 2008 exhibition, held in Amsterdam from September 12 – 16, its next generation Enterprise asset Management workflow capabilities. The Dalet driven workflow showcases new applications for on-air distribution and system-wide management, new server and NLE integrations, as well as advanced production features and supported formats. Designed to facilitate convergence for large-scale, multi-channel broadcasters, the new capabilities deliver integrated and standardized tools for exceptional content production and sharing across concurrent workflows for web, mobile and TV.

“The Dalet Enterprise Media Asset Management platform has tremendous flexibility and scalability. It is purpose-built for large-scale or integration intensive workflows such as the ones deployed at Antena3, Canal Plus or RTBF. Our MAM applications are designed to produce, store, broadcast and repurpose assets across an enormous production chain…customizing the workflow according to the broadcast environment as a whole,” comments Stephane Schlayen, Chief Operating Officer, Dalet SA. “This next Dalet MAM release brings content production into the heart of the workflow and incorporates very clever technology such as the Dalet Dashboard to maximize performance across the entire operation.”

New Dalet Features and Next Generation Enterprise Workflows

The expanded SD and HD format support in Dalet solutions is natively multi-codec and multi-format. Thus broadcasters can manage a wider range of acquisition and legacy source materials making media ubiquitous across the production pipe and available for multi-channel distribution via the new integrated Dalet OnAir application. The improved interoperability with third-party editing systems such as Apple Final Cut Pro via Dalet Xtend and Avid via Marquis as well as advanced production features such as CG’s in the timeline ensure non-linear production workflows do not sit outside the main workflow in isolated pools of production but instead are brought directly into the heart of the content production chain, enabling large-scale operations to be far more efficient at developing and delivering programs. Dalet’s open platform will also showcase new integrations with SeaChange and other hardware vendors giving broadcasters a greater choice of best in class server options for tapeless News, Sports, and Programs workflows.

The next generation Dalet technology also introduces the Dalet Dashboard – a new system-wide mission critical health monitoring and management application. More than a standard monitoring system, Dalet Dashboard utilizes the language and concepts of broadcast as well as IT giving administrators and users the ability to swiftly interpret, analyze and respond with immediate results. This enables broadcasters to closely manage performance adding yet another layer of security to the Dalet driven workflow from the top down.
