Dalet, an independent software vendor and a leading provider of media asset management and digital production tools, today announced that I2 TV selected and deployed DaletPlus Media Library to drive its tapeless production and broadcast facility.
“We wanted to build the first tapeless TV station in the Middle East that was driven by a media asset management platform and DaletPlus Media Library was the best solution for our needs,” explains Mr. Izzat Kittaneh, Managing Director of i2 TV. “By allowing us to properly catalogue our content, DaletPlus Media Library provides us with much more than an automation platform: it really drives our content aggregation business.”
“A station like i2 TV is at the fore-front of modern broadcast ventures: it addresses a community market —mobile telephony users— through multiple channels including satellite television and the internet,” comments Mr. Nicolas Hans, Marketing Director of Dalet. “Such content aggregation and multi-channel distribution is at the heart of the DaletPlus Media Library value proposition.”
I2 TV is one of the first tapeless facilities to be implemented in the Middle-East. Programs shot using Panasonic P2 cameras and edited on Apple Final Cut Pro Non Linear Editing workstations are automatically referenced by DaletPlus Media Library: a low bit-rate proxy is generated and associated metadata tagged by media librarians. Programs and schedules are prepared using DaletPlus workstations and played-out on an Omneon Spectrum Media Server.
