“We are very pleased with the speed at which the feature set of Dalet enterprise edition is moving forward. By building on the stable, open and feature rich platform of DaletPlus, we have been able to leverage the most modern technologies to satisfy the constant requests of our customers with a very fast turnaround,” said Kevin Savina, Director of Product Management, Dalet. “The new 3.x architecture provides a very stable platform for convergence, both technical (IT) and editorial; integrating tools that enable users to easily produce content for different media such as VoD, Mobile, Web, Podcast, and more. The 3.x platform also offers a path for incorporating emerging technologies that will change the landscape of content management and distribution yet again. We are very proud to be in a position to help our customers in their respective business goals by providing them a rock-solid solution that gives them all the agility they need to optimize their content.”

Dalet Enterprise Edition Version 3.3 New Technology Features

New Web Client – The new Dalet WebSpace is a modern, portable web client based on the very latest web technologies including Flex, Ajax, H.264 streaming and REST-based API. Dalet WebSpace provides a comprehensive set of functionalities for MAM, but also incorporates a fully featured web based client for newsroom operations. It includes improved video and audio production tools and fast navigation. Video content is streamed in H.264 or Mpeg4 making remote access simple and incredibly fast while maintaining high picture quality.

Dalet WebSpace is the ideal tool for any user working with multimedia content; especially individuals working remotely like journalists in the field. WebSpace features frame accurate cut editing, a rich media clip-bin, search tools, and a brand new sleek, user-friendly interface.

Enhanced Enterprise Search Engine – DaletPlus 3.3 offers new enterprise multimedia search engine based on Lucene / Solr technology. This strategic development is the first step towards providing a discovery approach to searching. The exceptional performance provided by its new search engine positions DaletPlus as the ideal system for massive enterprise-wide archives MAM.

Enhanced Interactive Content Distribution – In partnership with SeaChange and V4x, Dalet will showcase capabilities for producing and distributing content for Catch Up TV. The new integrations will also interface with SeaChange VoD applications. Coupled with technology from V4x, these new capabilities enable DaletPlus operators to add a layer of interactivity to multimedia content distribution. Viewer experiences with interactive media are dramatically enhanced with polling, quizzes, automatic graphic repackaging and more.

New Integration with SeaChange – Deep integration with SeaChange servers provide a unique solution for MAM, News, Archives, and more. Attendees to IBC can see the new Dalet integration on the SeaChange stand (Hall 1 stand E30).

New Live Automation – The Dalet news wheel automation decreases the need for live production; enabling broadcasters to dramatically improve studio production, especially for stations offering news 24/7. Included with the news wheel are the following unique features: CG production directly in the Dalet Media Cutter timeline; positioning with ‘ins’ and ‘outs’; desktop previews of video and graphics from any workstation; automated play-out of graphics as secondary events.

“We saw in both 2008 and 2009 major broadcasters implementing the Dalet solutions to decrease overall production costs while increasing productivity. Real productivity gains were achieved by automating time consuming processes, improving media sharing, and automatically repurposing assets for distribution on multi-platform,” said Raoul Cospen, Director of Marketing, Dalet. “For these broadcasters, Dalet has demonstrated that it generated a substantial ROI. Given the market dynamics today we see Dalet as more than an enterprise MAM platform. We see it as a solution for thriving during the global economic crisis.”
