Dalet to Showcase Real-Life Broadcast Scenarios at IBC 2007

Dalet announced that it will showcase at IBC 2007 a number of its new product releases on its booth

Dalet today announced that it will showcase at IBC a number of its new product releases on its booth (stand 420, hall 9, Sept. 7-11). Various workflow scenarios will be simulated so as to best illustrate the substantial productivity gains and cost savings that are made possible by consistently tracking metadata using open standards networked production systems.

These demonstrations will include:

Integrated end-to-end news production with Dalet News Suite 2.0 and Dalet Xtend for Apple Final Cut Pro

This comprehensive overview will illustrate the ease of use and best-of-breed integration provided by end-to-end Dalet News Suite 2.0 newsroom environments. From scheduled and crash ingest, to shot selections, integration with third-party edit suites, agency wire feed browsing, script editing, show planning, scheduling and play-out, this fifteen minute demonstration will detail the unique benefits brought by an open standards solution to news production and play-out. It will reflect the day-to-day operations of real-life 24 by 7 newsrooms such as BFMTV in Paris or RTTV in Moscow.

HD sports production and play-out with Dalet Media Library 2.0 integrated with EVS XT[2] servers and driving Omneon Spectrum play-out

This HD production chain will showcase how media recorded in the field using EVS XT[2] servers can be automatically referenced and transferred to an HSM-based distributed digital media library. The automatic generation of low bit rate proxies and consistent metadata management empower desktop shot selections and facilitate the integration with third-party edit suites. Resulting packages are easily scheduled and seamlessly transferred to an Omneon broadcast server for faultless play-out.

Flexible playout, automatic web distribution and video-on-demand with Dalet Enterprise Edition and Dalet OpenMedia using Dalet web services (API)

This technology showcase will illustrate the flexibility and sophistication of Dalet OnAir 2.0 play-out tools and demonstrate how the Dalet web-services application programming interface (API) can be used to automatically trigger recording jobs and gather corresponding metadata from third-party systems so as to produce consistent off-air recordings for archiving, web distribution and video-on-demand services.

Enhanced radio playout and PODCAST distribution with Dalet Radio Suite HD

This technology preview will illustrate the benefits that an integrated end-to-end digital radio platform brings to both news and music environments. It will showcase why consistent metadata management is essential to HD radio environments such as DAB, DRM, Ibiquity and digital satellite radio, as well as for automatic PODCAST distributions.

In addition to these various demonstration scenarios, Dalet will introduce a turn-key package ideally suited for upcoming digital terrestrial channels throughout Europe. Designed for small to mid-size TV stations, Dalet News Suite for Vector includes software, hardware and services. It was developed in partnership with Vector 3, a Spanish-based video server manufacturer and combines in a single rack Dalet comprehensive media management and production tools with VectorBox on-air continuity and branding features.
