Harmonic Inc. today announced that its Rhozet™ Carbon Coder™ video transcoding solution has been selected by Dalet for integration with the full range of Dalet asset management and broadcast solutions. Dalet’s file-based solutions offer end-to-end digital workflows—from ingest to production, editing, scheduling, transmission, archiving and content distribution. The Dalet – Rhozet integration is deployed at The Press Association, the national news agency for the United Kingdom and Ireland, for efficient production and management of video packages which are distributed to affiliates via The Press Association’s web portal.
Video journalists in the field edit video using their laptops and upload finished packages to headquarters using a customized store-and-forward video hub application developed using Rhozet video transcoding technology. Since burdensome transcoding and publishing functions are handled behind-the-scenes, journalists can focus their attention on content rather than on repetitive tasks.
