Dalet Releases DaletPlus Enterprise Edition

Dalet announced the release of DaletPlus Enterprise Edition, the workflow engine for open broadcast systems

Dalet, an independent software vendor and a leading provider of media asset management and digital production tools, today announced the release of DaletPlus Enterprise Edition, the workflow engine for open broadcast systems.

Based on the DaletPlus media asset management architecture, DaletPlus Enterprise Edition combines a powerful workflow engine with a comprehensive suite of production tools and a flexible application programming interface (API).

“Many media corporations and broadcasters want to expand their media production and management platform,” explains David Lasry, CEO and president of Dalet. “To do so, they need to interface their digital media systems with existing corporate tools such as Enterprise Resource Planning and traffic systems or Content Distribution Networks. DaletPlus Enterprise Edition was designed to do just that!”

Thanks to its web services-based Application Programming Interface (API), DaletPlus Enterprise Edition can be integrated into Services-Oriented Architectures (SOA): integrators and IT departments can easily leverage DaletPlus Enterprise Edition to embed digital media services within the corporate data backbone of their customers. This provides additional flexibility and freedom of choice to broadcasters and content organizations who can now deploy media asset management systems that span across multiple, heterogeneous production, play-out and storage platforms.

DaletPlus Enterprise Edition includes a comprehensive set of digital production and media management tools. Ingest from tape decks and feeds can be centralized or distributed. Fast editing tools provide simple transitions for quick edits and a number of formats and wrappers are supported to easily interface with third party nonlinear editing systems when more sophisticated edits are required. Advanced planning and scheduling combined with full-featured scripting means that rundowns and programs can be rapidly put together. Playout automation and multiplatform content distribution is optimized via dynamic live updates, secondary events management and store and forward media gateways. Ingest, production, scheduling, playout and distribution all rely on a single metadata repository, streamlining operations.
