In a recent conversation with Jonathan Coutts-Zawadzki, Director of Global Enablement at Dalet, Tim Day, Senior Vice President at Qvest, shared powerful insights gathered over 25 years in the media and entertainment industry.

Their conversation sheds light on the three key forces transforming the industry today; story‑centric workflows, cloud migration, and AI, while also showcasing how Qvest and Dalet are working together to accelerate the shift into a new generation of content creation.

Story First, Channels Second

For years, production teams have worked in silos; linear, digital, social, regional, each ingesting and editing their own content. Storycentricity changes this completely. Instead of building workflows around distribution channels, everything revolves around a single story.

This means content captured once can be immediately shared across teams everywhere—whether they’re crafting a two-minute broadcast segment or a 30 second YouTube clip. It’s less “create once, publish everywhere” and more “ingest once, adapt everywhere.”

Qvest + Dalet: Modernizing Workflows

Qvest and Dalet have partnered on major global projects to help broadcasters move from on prem systems to cloud-based, flexible, collaborative production environments. Dalet Flex and Dalet Pyramid play a key role in planning, ingesting, and managing stories through their full lifecycle, while Qvest brings deep workflow design expertise and customer centric system integration.

Where AI Fits In Today

Tim emphasizes that AI only becomes powerful once the core infrastructure is in place. With solid MAM, orchestration, and scheduling systems in place, AI can deliver clear value today. And even though many organizations are still early in adoption, some media companies are, for example, already using AI to monetize their archives, activating “long‑tail” content that was previously inaccessible or too costly to exploit.

Cloud Adoption Is Accelerating

Broadcasters that once insisted on keeping everything on prem are now embracing hybrid and cloud native models. This shift reduces physical infrastructure, shrinking equipment rooms, and lowering power and cooling needs while boosting scalability.

Form A Partnership Focused on Innovation and Customer Success

The ongoing collaboration between Qvest and Dalet and their shared customer focused approach has resulted in a powerful set of solutions, and even more innovation is coming as the industry evolves.
