The Elemedia Group launches 25 channels on SKY TV with DaletPlus Radio Suite

Paris, France– September 5, 2006– Dalet Digital Media Systems, a leading provider of media management tools for more than a decade, today announced that Elemedia, a subsidiary of the Italian editorial giant l’Espresso, has deployed DaletPlus Radio Suite to automate the broadcast of 25 radio channels. The Dalet installation enables Elemedia to broadcast—24 hours a day, 7 days a week—programs and associated metadata on SKY TV Italia satellite. The deployment of the Dalet system was ensured by Mediabytes, an Italian system integrator.

We could meet the very tight deployment time frame this project required because DaletPlus Radio Suite is an off-the-shelf solution,” explains Cesare Giammiro, Mediabytes General Manager. “Despite the inherent complexity of this project, there was no need for custom developments or expensive third-party integration. The entire workflow from production to broadcast is managed with DaletPlus; And that includes the dynamic generation of program associated data.

Dalet products go beyond standard automation; they’re integrated solutions that really address the challenges broadcasters face with digital platforms,” comments Nicolas Hans, director of marketing, Dalet. “With Dalet, broadcasters can expand their business model and increase their revenue channels.

Group Elemedia owns and operates some of Italy’s largest radio stations including Radio DeeJay, Radio Capital and M20. By implementing DaletPlus Radio Suite, Elemedia was able to expand their broadcast business and provide SKY TV, a world leader in satellite broadcasting, with 25 music channels.

DaletPlus Radio Suite equips the Elemedia team with the popular DaletPlus TrackFiler for CD ripping, Dalet Music Rotation, Scheduler and Cue Editor for scheduling, On Air and Mix Editor for playout. Thanks to the DaletPlus OnAirNow! plug-in, the system dynamically exports schedule information and program associated data to SKY TV. This metadata feeds the SKY TV Electronic Program Guide (EPG) and ensures that information regarding playing programs (such as title and artist name) is dynamically updated.
