Dalet Radio Moves and Grooves in the US

Several high-profile Dalet Radio client expansions continue to dominate the radio landscape by delivering cutting edge solutions

Dalet, a leading provider of media management tools for more than a decade, today announced several high-profile Dalet Radio client expansions as well as a new client addition, continuing to dominate the radio landscape by delivering cutting edge solutions.

“Dalet has a 16-year tradition of successfully serving the radio broadcast community,” comments Ken Tankel, general manager, Dalet US. “Whether it is deploying a complete music programming solution in one of America’s top markets or delivering innovative technology for the leaders in satellite and web radio, Dalet has best-of-breed solutions that meets a diverse range of needs.”

AOL/KOL Kid Radio

A massive success, AOL’s Radio KOL draws an estimated one million listeners a week. DJ Rick Adams uses Dalet to record, program and play music and other select audio tidbits for his live show. The fast paced and interactive style of the show demands that DJ Rick be able to find what he wants and get it to air in a moment and Dalet helps him do just that. Continuing on their success in the web radio market, AOL/KOL will be launching another special themed radio show for children. The new program requires a brand new facility with Dalet at the core of the operation.

XM Satellite Radio

With more than 80 studios dedicated to audio production for a wide range of programs that are broadcasted across 170 plus digital radio channels, XM Satellite Radio is arguably one of the most advanced radio broadcasters in the world. At the core of the massive operation is the Dalet system providing a complete audio production and playout environment that includes: recording, editing, and storing audio; log creation and automated/live playback. The team at XM makes extensive use of Dalet’s on and off site voice tracking capabilities. XM Satellite Radio is expanding their operation to support the launch of Oprah & Friends. Oprah & Friends will debut in September 2006 and will feature a broad range of original programming from Harpo Radio, Inc. The channel will be broadcast from a new state-of-the-art XM studio equipped with Dalet at Harpo Studios in Chicago.

WBLS FM and WLIB AM New York

WBLS FM and WLIB AM are the urban R&B radio station based in downtown New York City. A recipient of the prestigious Marconi award, WBLS FM and WLIB AM are turning to Dalet to modernize their entire music programming operation. The Dalet system will provide the radio broadcaster with a wide range of production and playout capabilities including scheduling, production, playout and backup capabilities.
