RTL TVI, the Belgium subsidiary of the RTL group, modernizes its facilities with the leading newsroom solution
Amsterdam, The Netherlands — September 10, 2006—Dalet Digital Media Systems, an independent software vendor and a leading provider of media asset management and digital production tools, today announced that TVI, the Belgium subsidiary of the RTL group, has selected Dalet OpenMedia to upgrade its newsroom infrastructure. The digital newsroom system will be implemented in the new RTL facilities. On-air date is December of 2006, in less than a hundred days.

The Dalet OpenMedia newsroom system will integrate a variety of third-party systems including EVS CleanEdit news production and play-out servers, Avid Deko computer graphics and MTB automation. The Dalet OpenMedia e-Regie plug-in will provide enhanced usability in the gallery by offering advanced timing functions and live-assist counters to operators.
This 24/7 mission critical newsroom system will be deployed on a high availability HP Microsoft cluster certified system. In addition, a Dalet OpenMedia hot stand-by server will be implemented so as to ensure for automatic fail-over in case of a hardware failure.
Based in Brussels, TVI, the Belgian subsidiary of RTL Goup, is producing programs for the 3 RTL channels (RTL-TVI, Club RTL and PLUG TV) operating under Luxembourgian license and targeted to the Belgian market. Among those programs are the following news shows; “Le 13 Heures”, “Le 19 heures”, which are clearly the audience leaders with up to 50 percent of market share in the French speaking Belgium.
