This year at NAB, Dalet will move one floor up to the upper south hall at booth SU 8520. Dalet will showcase its range of solutions for broadcast and production environments at NAB 2008, in Las Vegas, from April 14 to 17. Archiving, video-on-demand, news and sports production platforms will be demonstrated on the Dalet booth located in the upper south hall (stand SU8520). Demonstrations will include:
Designed as a modular media asset management and production platform, Dalet Enterprise Edition gives the ability for broadcasters and content producers to interact with a centralized content catalogue for a comprehensive range of applications. Dalet Enterprise Edition provides a web-services Application Programming Interface (API) that is compliant with Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) so as to facilitate the integration of third-party systems and applications.
At NAB 2008, the Dalet Enterprise Edition showcase will demonstrate how the production of Video-On-Demand (VOD) programming for web and mobile services can be dramatically streamlined by combining off-air recordings with the automatic capture of metadata residing in existing corporate and broadcast systems.
Dalet will introduce several turn-key packages built on its Dalet Media Library digital archive management software. These Dalet Media Library ARCHIVES-IN-A-BOX solutions are ready-to-rack and include software, hardware and professional services. They are specifically designed to help broadcasters archive video material in news, sports and program environments.
With support for MXF formats, Dalet Media Library ARCHIVES-IN-A-BOX provide instant archiving of material shot on solid state media. Digital transfer of tape-based material is also facilitated. Interfaces to a variety of video servers ensure capture and archiving of live and satellite feeds. Automatic proxy generation of all ingest material combined with easy-to-use logging tools facilitate consistent metadata capture of archived material for future search and retrieval. And support for both on-line and near-line storage systems means that a wide-range of archiving needs can be addressed – from a few hundred hours to several thousand hours.
Dalet Xtend is an extension for Apple Final Cut Pro that seamlessly integrates Apple workstations in a MOS-compliant Dalet NewsPro tapeless production and playout workflow. It unleashes the power and ease-of-use of the Apple editing platform in the fast paced world of news and sports. With sophisticated timeline-based ingest management, automated multi-resolution proxy generation, advanced support for edit-while production scenarios, Dalet NewsPro 2.0 is the only software solution of its kind to run on a variety of open, standard IT platforms. At NAB 2008, the Dalet NewsPro 2.0 showcase will demonstrate how advanced SD and HD production and playout workflows can be implemented using Apple Final Cut Pro editing suites in MOS compliant newsrooms.
