COMRàdio was looking for a new newsroom and digital audio system to produce:
18 news bulletins;
3 main thirty-minute newscasts;
12 live radio programs.
Beyond news, the goal was to implement an integrated production and archiving platform that could be shared by all radio departments.
Incoming agency wire feeds (1) are captured and automatically indexed by Dalet content catalogue (2). Journalists and producers (3) browse content catalogue and produce stories by directly recording their package on their workstation or editing incoming audio feeds captured by Dalet Audio FIFO recorders (4). All audio and scripts are stored centrally (5) allowing for edit-while-recording and facilitating the sharing of content across the newsroom and studios. Newscast rundowns are prepared and dynamically updated between across the newsroom and the Dalet OnAir Live Assist studios (6). Music production is facilitated by the use of Dalet TrackFiler to rip audio CDs (7). Dalet ImpEx back-office application server dynamically imports traffic logs from third-party traffic system (8). Main network programming is produced in live studios (6). During advertising breaks, localized splits are directly broadcast from the central facility using Dalet OnAir AutoPlay broadcast servers (9). All produced media is automatically converted to streaming format and made available on the web to authorized remote users (10).
Dalet Radio Suite provides a unified platform for radio production news, but also music and programs. In addition Dalet Radio Suite constitutes the central digital repository for all operations – from production and broadcast to archives.
