Dalet ActiveLog at Eduskunta

Redundant recording at the Parliament of Finland

Eduskunta, the Parliament of Finland, selected Dalet ActiveLog to ensure the recording, distribution and transcription of plenary sessions. The system takes advantage of Dalet ActiveLog distributed architecture to ensure the fail-safe, redundant recording of Parliamentary proceedings.

Two audio feeds (1) which pick up house floor proceedings are simultaneously recorded by two Dalet Audio FIFO recorders (2) each connected to two distinct Dalet ActiveLog content catalogues (3 and 4). The primary ActiveLog System (3) runs on a Microsoft cluster and provides instant access to audio files as recordings are on-going. A total of 25 transcription workstations (5) connected to the corporate network run Dalet Media Player with foot pedal control in conjunction with Adobe FrameMaker which is used to produce and publish the Official Record. The secondary ActiveLog system (4) is used as a disaster recovery system.
